Neon for New Year's
Women have this one night to overload on glitter and still look good. So men, maybe you should put some umph in your looks with fluo…To get the above: get some spray paint, tape and voila - you can spray yourself some ultra-fashionable brogues for the coming 2012.
Alternatively, get some Elsa Oxfords with a cute colour blocking twist.
Dazed
Something happened when I was taking the colour blocking photo… and I love it.

Colours of Sri Lanka - Earth tones
Sri Lanka is famous for its sea turtles - 6 species exist in our world today and Sri Lanka is home to four of them. I have heard many stories of people witnessing turtle eggs hatching on the beach and carrying the little babies to the sea…
These little dudes were 2 days old and fit in my palm (I have big hands, but trust me when I say they were tiny). Totally worth seeing.
Colours of Sri Lanka - Aqua
Colours of Sri Lanka - Blues
The Queen of Whales boat…
… an abandoned house by the shore…
… and a blue sunrise by the beach.
Indigo Sarong
The colours in Sri Lanka were absolutely amazing - I was not able to take as many pictures as I would have wanted on the streets of Matara, but it was inspiring to see men and women dressed in so many different colours throughout the day. Sarongs and Saris are the way forward for a tropical Christmas!
Merry Tropical Christmas
… from Sri Lanka, on a palm tree (that is actually suspended 2 meters over the beach), in a Marie Lisa Fernandez and La Perla bikini.
(50% off all swimwear at La Perla - they have great investment pieces hidden in storage for the summer seasons!)
Lavender linen
Or should I say Purple Tailoring?
It’s not even lavender. Grape juice? Ribena? Cadbury? I’ll settle with lavender mainly because my google search for ‘things that are purple’ has failed me. See menswear take a colour that womenswear failed to keep going (remember when purple was the new black…?) and do it better than us.
Tailored jacket from Duchamp,...
Accesorise - Watches
I love watches. I have never bought myself a watch, but I love them anyways - and this little piece looks like it can (and should be) worn for years and years to come. A little like a timeless classic in the making.
I have seen a few people on the streets with this Marc Jacobs watch - not sure what season it’s from, but I’m thinking SS11. You might also recognize the woman...
Hong Kong Manicures
Hong Kong loves manicures - from the more modest ones (see above) to the avant-garde-heavy-duty-how-did-they-get-that-to-stick-on-your-finger ones (no photos yet). From rhinestones to glitter, you will find just about anything on a pair of hands here in Hong Kong - so if you have pictures, send them in to fotautomat@gmail.com - I would love to post this trend.
PS: the above can also be done at...
A Navajo scarf for winter
On my super blue Monday (yesterday), Ivy was wearing a different, more vibrant shade of blue: turquoise pop. Her matching-colour superpowers made an awesome shot - Thanks Ivy, can’t wait to see what you have on today!
On another note: Can we DIY this? Seriously… Navajo stenciling with a few cans of spray paint… someone send me a tutorial!
Monday Electric Blues
I was walking to the office this morning and saw these electric blue wedges and thought what an awesome way to start my day…
… then I walked into the office and saw this dude and thought I’m totally digging his style today…
… then we went for noodles and noticed that even our jackets match…
… so maybe I have this whole androgynous look thing...
From the back - Cut out
I dedicate this post to summer - the long gone heat that allowed us to wear cut outs and short sleeves.
Hello, 13-dregree-cold-weather - I am so ready for you!!
A touch of colour
Black and white with a touch of fluo…
… a stiff collar…
… and Italian shoes.
At the races - a waistcoat
Tomy wears a waistcoat he bought somewhere in the UK - perfect for the hot / cold weather (not too sure what it is right now…), for both men and women.
From the back - Necklace
Here is a DIY idea for all of us… And a great way to add colour to an outfit.
Winter knits - Cowichan sweater
Sozo wears a vintage Cowichan sweater - Cowichan comes from the heavy wool and geometric patterns and originates from the Cowichan Valley, Vancouver (fun fact out of my fun butt).
Foot thong
No - not the Australian kind of thong…
This is the ‘sock thong’…
From the back - Elbow patches

Men of New York - Part 2
The pumpkin man…
The cool man…
And the pumpkins.
Notice the colourful use of ties and nonchalant poses… Love it. All shots taken on a Friday in Union Square, New York.
