A wardrobe facelift - Glitter shoes
I hate throwing things away. So I delay the separation between me and my things as long as I can. Signs of a young hoarder? Possible… I had a pair of Dorothy Perkins heels from London - 6 years old, worn something like 4 times. Instead of chucking them out, I found some inspiration on A Pair And A Spare and I DIYed. Oh yeah…
The old pair… Scratched and pretty gross despite...
Shoes are amazing - Valentino
For a last bit of summer - at the races, Shatin.
Shoes are amazing - booties
A Pair and a Spare
I have always been a fan of DIY blogs - I read it, think ‘yeah that’s easy’ and buy everything I need. That’s about as far as my DIY-ing goes.
This is Geneva and she writes A Pair and a Spare - a blog about her DIY adventure in fashion. From glitter boots to cut-out dresses, this girl has made me even more motivated to DIY.
Let’s see how far I get this time...
Hats - Takiyah
Amazing colours and details on a takiyah, in Kwun Tong.
Ochre stripes
A great fall blazer - ochre and blue. Love it.
From the back
Back yoke patchwork on a chambray shirt from Levi’s.
Shoes are amazing - Colourful transparent
I ran after these to catch them on camera - Lucky for me, she was happy for me to shoot her shoes.
They’re gorgeous.
Available online. That’s all I know…
Levis X Pendleton
Levi’s faded ochre pullover…
With a Levi’s X Pendleton collaboration jean. All all from Levi’s, San Francisco.

Women of New York
Big scarves, mixing colours and layering prints…
… accessories adding a pop of colour…
… or all dark colours, with an awesome burgundy biker jacket.
Style, or not style...
… You be the judge.
Burgundy with denim
Ivy wears denim on denim, with touches of matching burgundy. The suede is sort of ochre, which makes me like these colours even more.
Ramdane Touhami
It’s colourful. It’s fun. It’s alternative. It’s Ramdane.
I am talking about the man and the brand. This is Ramdane, and he has his own menswear brand (and womenswear, actually). The level of detail in all of his designs satisfy my chronic obsession of brass tacks - from stitch details to sundries, he’s thought of it all, and done everything differently.

Fall Colour - Ochre
This is my colour of the season: OCHRE. I can’t get enough of it. And an ochre that pops is even better… Xuan wears all Levi’s, mixing ochre, burgundy and indigo.
Not to be mistaken for gold. On clothes.
Men in Cardigans
… or should I say Man in Cardigan… A very colourful one. This is the man who makes Kapok happen. Check it out on Star Street.
Stores of Hong Kong - Ranee K
Local designer Ranee K has re-opened in Central (Aberdeen street, just under Hollywood Road) and has lots to offer. From gorgeous Cheung Sam-inspired (traditional Chinese dresses) gowns to the casual, floral print dress, this store is definitely out to satisfy the little girl in us all.
The main attraction in Ranee’s store (to me) are by far the gowns. One stuck out to me - it was a...
Alexander Wang X Top Shop
This is not a collaboration - but a mixing and matching. Lingzi wears and Alexander Wang sheer shirt dress with a Top Shop beaded gilet. Gorgeous!

A lower heel, but just as killer… Louboutin.
The Shoes of Hong Kong - Part 2

The shoes of Hong Kong
I attended the Rag & Bone event at Lane Crawford this week - and it was amazing. The clothes, the accessories - The shoes were really amazing…
Non of the above are Rag & Bone. But you should check their collection out. It’s gorgeous…
Katie
This is Katie, and I want her style. She’s the coolest girl in New York and waers everything from Zara to whatever-it-is-she-wears.
Here she’s in a super cute jacket from Barney’s and a Henri Bendel bag… And in the first shot she’s in Zara.
We love bags - Mismo
Nothing makes you feel more special than a special bag… And this one is super special. This Danish brand produces a fantastic range of high end, sophisticated and quality man bags from ruck sacs to totes… Grab yourself a Mismo at Kapok (Start Street, Wanchai). Alternatively, drool at their designs on their website… GORGEOUS - http://www.mismo.dk/
Stores of Hong Kong - Moustache
Essentially a menswear brand, this is the first store I have come across in Hong Kong that not only makes tailored suits for you (with the finest Italian wool, or the alternative affordable fabrics), but also offers a range of bespoke jeans with fabric, sundries and production all done in Japan.
From a range of existing shapes in store, the jeans will be tailored to fit and men can choose the...
Shades of Salmon for Fall
I have always found salmon a hard colour to wear, but Afsha has been pulling it off in a couple of outfits…
A toned down coral ‘bubble’ cardigan from Top Shop with a pair of Top Shop printed trousers…
… or an oversized cardigan with floral shorts and a graphic tee.
Bespoke Millinery
A feathered fedora…
… Or a polka dotted scarf.
Shoes are amazing - Fall Colours
Navy heels with gold details (and socks - I love this trend - need to wear socks everywhere)…
… white heels with a western influence (bought for a dollar in a flea market, New York)…
… and patent burgundy footwear for a crisp professional look.
Washed ashore
No pair of jeans will ever look this good…
Coney Island, New York
I love the biking culture in cities. It’s a pity we don’t have it in Hong Kong. Drivers here are nuts. And the prospect of hills… Maybe that’s the main reason why none of us have a bike…
Oh yeah...
Guess what…. There are over 500 street shots on Foto-Automat as of today! Exciting! I never thought this would happen in less than a year…
So here’s to 500 more before the end of the year! Only kidding. Although, I love a challenge…. Mmmmm…
Daily updates will keep coming - so keep visiting!!

Stores of Hong Kong - Delstore
While on a mission to do some retail therapy yesterday evening, Sozo and I were directed to a new boutique around the corner of Star Street called Delstore - Our new favourite going-to-be-hang-out-area for the next couple of months I believe.
Stocking amazing brands from Japan (Omnigod, Big John, Spellbound, etc) and designs from the menswear god hero, Nigel Cabourn, we both highly recommend...
The Men of New York
Rugged styling…
Preppy on the beach…
And a chef with the most awesome haircut, tattoos and possibly the most amazing burger stall in the Brooklyn flea market. I will never know…

A lovely embroidered coat and equestrian styling.
A Shirt
PDAs and Techno
I love it when grandpas and grandmas display a bit of TLC in public - it’s cuter than a narcoleptic puppy running into a glass door. So when I saw this couple dancing away on Coney Island, I got the serious goosebumps. They were slowly dancing to techno by the beach. Yes, techno - the kind guidos and guidettes fist pump to.
I’m not big on techno, but these guys brought commercial...
